历史沿革[edit]
1987年以前，这里称万山大队；1987年起改设万山村委会，沿用至今。[2]
人口民族[edit]
博雅地名网引述2015年的报道，万山村当时有户籍人口437人，距珠海市区39海里。[1]万山区政府网站的概况页则记其户籍人口为671人。[3]
文化[edit]
据同一报道，万山村被推荐入选的理由有四点：渔村风貌保存完整，2014年中央电视台的《舌尖上的中国》第二季曾在此取景；浮石湾的卵石海滩；万山天后宫（1852年建）；以及全国知名的海钓。[1]2015年上半年，全村接待游客19975人次，旅游收入合计1386.3万元。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
浮石湾位于大万山岛东南，长680米，纵深300米，湾内遍布浑圆的卵石，被称作“亚洲奇观”。[4]
荣誉方面，2015年7月列入「第三批全国特色景观旅游名镇名村示范名单」；2020年12月被列为「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年11月入选「广东百千万工程首批典型县镇村」。[2]
