水田社区位于深圳市宝安区石岩街道东部，东邻大浪街道，南接羊台山，西连官田社区，北靠光明街道，辖区面积8.12平方千米。[1]社区以客家村落水田为基础，村中保存有碉楼与四姓祠堂，并有舞麒麟的传统。[1][2]
名称由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，清代早期此地居民为客家人，以种水稻和水果为生，村子四周是成片稻田，因而得名水田。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
社区下辖水田、三祝里两个居委会。[1]另一篇社区介绍称辖区面积为5.07平方千米，常住约1.9万人，户籍1934人，与前述数字口径不同。[3]
文化[edit]
水田村舞麒麟的历史已有数百年，舞者须懂武术，起初习武是为保护村庄。[1]民国年间，村中华侨与富户先后建起三座碉楼，村民集资建第四座，名“众人楼”，四座碉楼分立村子四角，据说水田的碉楼在石岩数量最多。[1]
姓氏宗族[edit]
老村里依次建有郑、邓、林、刘四姓祠堂。郑氏最早迁入，开基祖振玉公自梅林村而来，其妻谢氏带来的前夫之子仍姓林，故水田郑、林两姓的祖先为同母异父兄弟；刘姓原居附近山中，与郑氏有亲；邓姓祖先从梅县迁来，今仍回乡祭祖。[1]
