下梅社区面积0.65平方公里，北接梅华路，南靠北环附道，西到梅林路，东抵新洲立交桥。辖区有4个住宅小区（锦林新居、嘉梅花园、天心花园、裕林花园），又有围面、下梅林、丰田三个自然村，被形容为典型的城市农村化社区。博雅地名网记9986户居民，共29385人，户籍仅3385人，流动人口达26000人（年份未注明）。[1]
社区工作站的前身是下梅林村委会，现有工作人员39人（编制内7人）。辖区有幼儿园2所，出租屋11600多套，企业32家，商铺535间，另有1100平方米的户外广场、130平方米的星光老人之家和100平方米的警务室。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
抗日战争、解放战争期间这里仍叫梅林，东江纵队曾驻在梅林，并把爱国人士从梅林坳护送到白石龙。解放初梅林大队属宝安县南天门人民公社，六十年代初转属附城人民公社；七十年代初，梅林大队一分为二，成为上梅林村和下梅林村，下梅林以郑氏族人为主。农村城市化改革中，下梅林村于1992年8月改为居委会，2003年5月又变成下梅社区工作站。2022年3月，它列入首批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区名单。[1]
