历史沿革[edit]
赤尾居委会设于1992年5月，2002年起称赤尾社区居委会。[1]
赤尾村[edit]
赤尾村是上步村七个自然村之一，始建于明朝。百度百科称是郑姓从潮州迁来开村；网易刊载的福田村落介绍则说，最初是郑氏族人居住地，当时叫白鹤林，明中叶林宗太、林宗美兄弟来此定居，如今村中以林氏为主。[2][3]1898年英国租借新界，赤尾村因跨深圳河两岸被分成两部分，北岸仍称赤尾村，南岸称马草龙（垄）村。[3]
抗日战争时期，中共深圳总支部是宝安县第一个党的总支部，曾驻在赤尾村；1942年，该村在文化名人大营救中是重要的中转站之一。[2]
村里原以种地为生，1979年起土地陆续被征收，转做工商业，如今收入来自房租、物业管理和金融投资。[2]

据博雅地名网所载，社区有鹏丽大厦、御景华城两个住宅小区和229栋村民房，辖区总人口32029人，设有赤尾、丽景两个居委会。[1]2022年3月，赤尾社区被认定为首批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
