历史沿革[edit]
万俚、象山两处在1950年合设中心农会；1956年起为燎原高级农业合作社，1958年改作燎原大队。[1]大队在1979年曾叫罗坝大队，1982年恢复燎原之名并设管理委员会，1983年改乡，1987年再改管理区。[1]管理区于1998年撤销，改设燎原村村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村位于罗坝镇北部，种桑养蚕是传统农业。据博雅地名网，全村桑园面积1680亩，占耕地的八成，种桑养蚕的农民占总人口七成以上（未注明年份）。[1]2011年8月，农业部将燎原村列入「第一批全国一村一品示范村镇」（蚕茧）；广东省的专业村名单中，蚕桑见于2020年8月的首批，油茶见于2021年9月的第二批。[1]2023年5月，村获省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
长围村围屋在村内的长围自然村，又称燎原长围，为客家围屋，建于清咸丰五年（1855年），占地3265.6平方米，坐北向南，由围楼、祖堂和民居组成。[2]祖堂为三厅二井，两侧民居各为二厅四房。[2]据博雅地名网，围楼四层，高15米，门楣题「人文蔚起」。[1]这处围屋是始兴县第三次全国文物普查中新发现的，2011年入选广东省第三次全国文物普查「十大新发现」，2013年3月5日，国务院将它列入「第七批全国重点文物保护单位」。[2]
