天鹿湖社区由村转制而成，隶属广州市黄埔区联和街道，南面是天鹿湖森林公园，北面朝向帽峰山。[1]名称来自辖区内的天鹿湖山庄和天鹿湖；传说有天上神鹿下凡到湖边饮水，舍不得离开，化作湖边的一棵鹿树。[1][2]

社区于2005年5月设立，2014年起改属黄埔区。[1][2]
地理环境[edit]
百度百科称，社区森林覆盖率超过95%。[1]街道早期的概况记其面积约15平方千米，居民1500多人，下设7个居民小组，其中3个是经济社，辖区内有八斗经济联合社。[3]
文化[edit]
百度百科记，社区的传统民居为客家民居，通行客家话，2021年成立了客家山歌协会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年通过广州市健康社区创建满三年的复审；2024年11月认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。[1][2]
