此地先是晓港街的第十二居委会；1998年晓港街与昌岗中街合并后，列为昌岗街第33居委会；2002年称晓园北社区；2005年又与第38、39两个居委会并为晓园新居委会，名称沿用至今[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2024年11月被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」[1]。
