连城村因前身的连城乡而得名，该乡由罗泗公路沿线相连的几个自然村组成。村委设立后沿用了这一名称。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

陈氏始祖大能在明万历年间随母亲温氏自英德县来到三都鸭脚村，停留片刻后迁往七堆寨定居，是村内最早的村落。此后赖、肖两姓来此落户。今有赖、陈、肖、曾、张、苏、李7姓，陈姓占两成。[1][2]

1958年2月，连城乡先改为合作社，划归高寨乡管辖；同年9月公社化，设连城生产大队。1983年复为连城乡，1986年改为村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年复称村委会。[2]
