平北村是连州镇的一个行政村，民国时设立，前身名称由所辖两个村庄各取一字组合而成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖年间（约1537年），温氏始祖由罗定市罗平镇迁入，形成村委最早的村落；之后孙、刘、罗等姓氏先后迁入。[2]
1958年公社化后，平北一带归连州公社，设平云生产大队。1961年该大队再分为若干大队，其中一个于1963年更名为平北大队。1983年设平北乡，归连州区；1986年11月改为村民委员会，1989年5月设管理区，1998年9月恢复村委会。[2]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，本村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
