里塘村的村名承袭自前身的村委：旧时辖区内有大里村，周边还有好几个带“塘”字的自然村，村委会因此取名里塘。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

熊氏始祖于1648年迁来，始建村落；之后黄、欧等姓陆续迁入，村中现有熊、黄、欧、李等姓。[1]

1961年6月，里塘大队自黎少公社中分出。1983年改为里塘乡，属黎少区；1986年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年恢复村委会名称。[1]

文化[edit]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把里塘村确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
