六竹村是罗定市双东街道下辖的行政村，村中的聚落始于明万历年间。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

王氏兄弟三人（德京、德举、德逹）于明万历三十三年（1602年）自清远、英德一带迁来，就此立村，村中最早的聚落由此而生。[2]之后，黄、余、戴、邓、柳、钟、许等姓的先祖陆续迁入村中。[2]村委会现有王、黄、余、戴、邓、许、柳、钟等8姓，其中王姓最多。[2]

村名设立于1602年，明清两代属罗定州，民国元年（1912）起归罗定县第五区。[2]1950年为罗定县第十区，1958年公社化后改设六竹大队，隶罗城公社。[2]
