平西村是附城街道下辖的行政村，属城乡结合区。村名由辖内平田村与西门口村各取一字组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

辛氏始祖由广东顺德迁来定居，此后陈、李、邱、杨、康、梁、许等姓先后迁入，现村中有8姓，以辛姓人数最多。[2]

1950年5月设平西乡，属罗定县罗城镇；1963年设平西大队，改属附城公社。1998年撤区后改设村委会，属附城街道。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有平西陈氏祠堂（位于西门口西三村）和辛就和民宅（位于竹围村），二者均为罗定市文物保护单位。[3][4]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月，本村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单；同年5月，辖下数个自然村获评2022年广东省卫生村；同年11月，村被命名为「第五批云浮市民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
