历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立前属裕义乡。1958年划入历洞人民公社，同年设中里生产大队。1983年村属历洞区公所，并设乡人民政府；1987年划归历洞乡政府，村委会随之设立；1989年才设管理区办事处；1993年起属历洞镇人民政府，1999年才恢复中里村民委员会的名称。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，村庄上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
两头古榕[edit]
两头古榕树高约30米，树冠覆盖地面约462平方米。蔓生根横架在树的东西两端，中间拱起，拱顶离地约3.5米；树的东侧与西侧落叶的季节相反。[3]
