竹头围村位于河口镇，民国时期属三堡乡。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
张、许、林、傅、周、江、刘等姓先后迁入。民国时期属三堡乡，后并入连滩第八区；1958年设竹头围生产大队，1983年设竹头围乡人民政府，1987年改设竹头围村民委员会，1989年设竹头围管理区，1999年起改为村民委员会。[1][2]
2021年12月，竹头围村获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。2019年9月，竹头围村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」。2026年1月，竹头围村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
