沙隆村的村名是建立行政村时从两处旧地名中各取一字而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

许、伍、陈等姓迁入。建国初为沙隆行政村，公社时期叫车坑大队；进入1983年后设立沙隆乡，到1987年改为沙隆村委会，1989年改设管理区，1999年又恢复为村委会。[1]

建国初属建城乡；1953年划归郁南县第三区，1955年并入建城区。1958年归建城人民公社，此后1983年改由建城区公所管辖，1987年由建城镇人民政府管辖。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，沙隆村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2019年12月，沙隆村入选第二批「国家森林乡村」名单。[1]
