承平村属都城镇，为镇乡结合区内的行政村。建行政村时，村名由两个旧村名各取一字而定，因两字音近，取名「承平」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清朝时村地属十五都七堡二甲建新甲所辖，1912年至1949年属白夏乡。1950年4月设承平行政村，属郁南县第一区。此后历经人民公社、乡和管理区等建制：1987年设承平村民委员会，1989年6月起属都城镇人民政府，1999年起沿用至今。[2]

2019年9月，村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；广东省爱卫会于2021年12月将「2021年广东省卫生村」称号授予村。[1]
