塘窝水村位于六祖镇境内。据博雅地名网，村落四周环山、中间低洼，形如鸟窝，且中间地面有水，村名由此而来[1]。2019年9月，塘窝水村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1949年至1953年，此地属新兴县第四区，1954年至1956年改属公平区。1958年设集成公社的塘窝水大队，1983年后隶属集成区（镇）的一个乡，1989年6月设塘窝水管理区，1999年改为村委会，2004年起归六祖镇，地名沿用至今[1]。
