龙山塘村位于六祖镇境内。据博雅地名网，村后群山像一条舞动的龙，村前有一口大塘，村名由此而来[1]。龙山塘村获「2021年中国美丽休闲乡村」称号，由农业农村部推介，时间在当年10月[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1949年至1953年间，此地属新兴县第四区公平乡；1954年改为公平区公平乡。1958年成为集成公社的龙山塘大队，1983年后称公平乡，1989年6月设龙山塘管理区，1999年改为村委会，2004年起归六祖镇，地名沿用至今[1]。

经济[edit]

据六祖镇政府的材料，村庄发展以“禅意”为主线，近年来村子列于广东“百千万工程”首批典型村之中，相关名单公布于2023年[2]。

文化[edit]

龙山塘村在2019年9月得到「首批广东省文化和旅游特色村」的认定，此前的2012年10月，司法部、民政部确定其为「第五批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」[1]。2019年12月，龙山塘村列入「第二批国家森林乡村」名单[1]。
