雅冈社区位于六祖镇中心区，是镇内的城镇型社区。据博雅地名网，地名取自此处修竹环绕、河水回转的环境，因而称雅冈[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1944年至1953年间此地隶属新兴县第三区，旧称集成乡，1954年起改归上沙区。1957年至1958年曾办雅冈农业合作社，之后并入集成公社，成为雅冈大队。1983年后经集成区公所和集成镇的管理区体制，1999年改设雅冈社区居民委员会，2004年起归六祖镇管辖[1]。
