罗陈村位于太平镇，村名取自最早在此开村的罗姓人家。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年10月起归新兴县第三区，名为五冈乡。[1] 1955年隶属上沙区东山乡，当年有罗陈高级农业社。[1] 1958年归共成公社，设罗陈生产大队；1961年至1963年间一度隶属悦塘公社。[1] 1963年后又归上沙公社，1983年设罗陈乡。[1] 1986年11月改设太平镇罗陈管理区，此后于1999年改为村民委员会建制。[1]
