石岗村位于太平镇，村名取自村后山岗上多有黑色大石。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明朝初期梁氏先人迁入此地定居，此后刘、李、黎、潘等姓陆续迁入，现村委辖区共有五大姓。[2] 1949年后此地历经五冈乡、蚕岗乡等建制，1958年划入社圩乡，随即并入共成公社，成为石岗生产大队。[2] 1961年至1982年隶属上沙公社，1983年设石岗乡。[2] 1986年划为太平镇下的石岗管理区；至1999年，改为村民委员会建制。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，石岗村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
