腰古镇位于广东省云浮市云城区东南部，处在云浮与肇庆两市交界的地带，东面与肇庆市高要区白诸镇相接，南面与新兴县车岗镇为邻。镇内以丘陵和河谷为主，新兴江流经境内。[1][4]
镇内的水东村是一座明清古村落，始建于明永乐二年（1404年），村中保存着大量明清古建筑，并在中国历史文化名村的第七批名单（2019年）中占有一席之地。[5][6]
地名由来[edit]
镇名原作「腰鼓」。每逢新兴江涨水，山岗被淹没，只露出顶部，形如鼓，后来以同音字「古」代替，于是写作腰古。[3]
地理环境[edit]
镇域地势西北高、东南低，属丘陵和河谷地带，主要河流有小河（古称芙蓉河）和新兴江。气候属亚热带季风类型，多年平均气温为21.7℃。境内白云母、独居石、磷钇矿与花岗岩皆有产出。[4]

历史沿革[edit]
清同治年间，此地属东安县，设腰古堡和小河堡。1926年堡改为乡，其后乡的建制屡有调整。1958年9月，腰古乡由腰古、思劳和夏洞合并组成；同年10月设立激流人民公社。1961年3月，分设为腰古人民公社。[4]
1983年4月设立腰古区，1985年4月改设为镇。镇曾于1996年3月并入城东区，1998年2月起重新归云城区管辖。[3]
2014年7月，腰古镇被住房和城乡建设部等七部委确定为「全国重点镇」；2024年3月，被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」；2026年5月，入选「广东省第一批小城市试点培育名单」。[3]
人口[edit]
截至2019年末，镇户籍人口为24900人。第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月）的结果为约2.53万人。[1][3]
经济[edit]
镇内的农产品以稻谷、蔬菜和水果为主，腰古香荔是其中的一种特产。[3][4]
名胜古迹[edit]
水东古村（水东村）位于新兴江畔，始建于明永乐二年（1404年），村中现存明清古建筑588座。2012年被纳入首批中国传统村落，第七批中国历史文化名村名单（2019年）中也有此村；2025年，其保护规划获广东省人民政府批复。[2][5][6][8]
陈剑夫故居在雄强村的城头村，建于1920年，青砖瓦木构筑，为广东省文物保护单位。[7]
