新光村是广东省揭阳市普宁市梅塘镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的中部，城乡分类属镇乡结合区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

乾隆年间（1736—1795），周姓人家迁入此地落户。新中国成立初，此地归梅塘乡所辖。1958年随公社化并入梅塘大队，1960年分出，另组新光大队。1984年设新光乡，1986年设村委会，1990年设管理区，1999年改为村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，新光村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
