梅光村旧称中央寨，文化大革命期间改为现名。明末有吴氏一支从福建迁来定居，村中分上社、中社、下社三处聚落，村子居中，故初称中央寨。村内的十九烈士墓（梅林）为普宁市文物保护单位。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，村属南阳山特区三峰乡。1958年体制调整后，此地先称中央大队；1973年因“中央”二字不妥，改名梅光大队。1987年改设梅光村委会，1989年改设管理区，1999年又改为村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

十九烈士墓（梅林）在梅光村的埔顶下，年代为1950年，属近现代重要史迹，列为普宁市文物保护单位，四周按现状划定保护范围。[2][3]
