永光村曾名庵头仔，是船埔镇下辖的行政村，自然村有梅树、横径、角里、柏仔社，另有下车仔、上车、岭下、庵头仔、水背岗，共九处。[1]

村子距普宁市区30.2公里，位于西南方向，里坪公路穿村而过，属革命老区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年公社化时期，本村与他村合组一个大队；此后大队分成四个，永光自成大队。1983年并入乡建制，1987年才设立村委会，1999年定为现名。[1]

经济[edit]

村中耕地676亩；山地4805亩。主要作物为水稻与甘薯，果品有青梅、橄榄、油甘与菠萝，其中青梅是本地特产。村中设有初级小学一所。[1]
