历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期归普宁县第四区管辖；1973年分出，成为独立的生产大队。1984年公社改区，设横山头乡，归南径区；1987年撤区设镇，称横山头村委会，随后改为横山头管理区；1999年回到横山头村委会的名称，延续至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村民以种植水稻为主，番薯、蔬菜次之，多数村民外出务工。[1]
