平林村在大坝镇北面，省道236线经过村子，距普宁市区以北大约10公里。村庄旧称彭蓝村，据百度百科，村名源自明末清初福建彭、蓝二姓迁居此地。[1][2]

村内耕地以水稻、番薯、蔬菜为主，山林出产茶枝柑、李、梅等水果，是普宁市水果的主产地之一。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年，平林从原有村落中析出，自成一个大队。1984年划归大坝区，设平林乡；1986年划归大坝镇，设平林村民委员会；1990年设管理区；1999年又改为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，平林村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
