赤岗镇是广东省揭阳市普宁市下辖的镇，位于普宁市西北一带，与揭西县棉湖镇相邻，东面是洪阳镇，南面与大坝镇相连。镇人民政府驻赤岗山村，全镇辖1个社区、15个行政村。[1][2]

镇名来自镇政府驻地的赤岗山圩。圩旁山岗为赤红壤土质，因而得名赤岗山，后形成圩集称赤岗山圩。[1][7] 维基百科的普宁行政沿革表则称当地明代建村，因左侧有呈赤色的山岗得名。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，这一带归黄坑都管辖。民国年间划入普宁县第一区；1949年10月之后，行政归属在洪阳市、洪阳区与第一区之间几经调整。[1]

建制变动频繁：1957年先设乡，次年并入洪阳乡；1961年独立为公社，1963年又并回洪阳公社，1966年重新分出。1983年公社改作区，三年后区改为镇。[1]

镇政府工作报告提到，赤岗镇入选「广东省百千万工程第三批典型镇培育名单」，并先后获得省级荣誉。[6] 据博雅地名网，「广东省乡村治理示范镇」创建单位名单于2023年4月公布，赤岗镇位列其中；2024年3月，该镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[1] 2020年、2021年和2022年，该镇均列入淘宝镇名单。[1]

地理环境[edit]

洪（阳）棉（湖）公路横穿镇境。《普宁统计年鉴—2020》列赤岗镇区域面积为23.67平方千米，《普宁统计年鉴—2022》所列相同。[4][5] 镇域气候属亚热带季风气候。[2]

人口民族[edit]

第七次全国人口普查结果为4.81万人。[1] 百度百科所载2019年末户籍人口为61920人。[2] 两个数字年份不同，统计范围也未加说明，故并列而不作换算。

2020年末，全镇设居民委员会1个，村民委员会15个。[4]

经济[edit]

镇政府把赤岗定为工业专业镇，并提出「荔稻飘香、轻工赤岗」的建设目标。镇内工业涵盖服装、塑料、电器、食品与五金等行业；农作物以水稻、番薯和水果为主。[1][6]

镇政府工作报告称，全镇探索形成「工业富村」陈厝寨模式、「工农并举」双枝山模式和「生态宜居」五福屿模式三种样板。[6]
