燎原街道是广东省揭阳市普宁市辖的街道，位于市境西北部。南边与流沙北街道和池尾街道相邻，东边接流沙东街道，北面是大坝镇，西面为梅塘镇。[3]街道名取自毛泽东诗句「星星之火，可以燎原」。[1]

街道辖区总面积30.08平方千米。境内的泥沟、果陇两村列入广东省古村落名单，另有一批市县级文物保护单位和历史建筑。[7][8][5]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，今乌石村一带曾设分司。1732年（清雍正十年），潮阳县的戎水都改属普宁。[2]

民国时期隶属普宁县第二区，解放初期沿袭未变。1957年曾设燎原乡，1958年归入大坝人民公社。至1974年，燎原人民公社才从大坝公社中析出；1983年人民公社体制撤销，改设燎原区，1986年撤区建镇。[2]

2013年2月26日，广东省民政厅批复同意撤销燎原镇建制，改设燎原街道，此事经省政府先行同意。[2][3]

第七次全国人口普查登记的2020年11月1日零时，街道常住人口为79163人，占全市的3.96%。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

市县级文物保护单位中，湖山岩在夏地村，慈悲娘庙在果陇村。泥沟村内则有王武烈士墓和群众学校旧址，以及普宁升平人瑞坊、张氏宗祠报本堂。[5]

2023年，果陇村的协裕批馆与乌石村的巡检司故址列入普宁市第二批历史建筑名录。[6]
