池尾街道是广东省揭阳市普宁市的一个街道，位于市区西部，原为池尾镇，2000年12月改设街道。街道名称取自驻地所在的池尾圩。[1][2]

街道北面与梅塘镇、燎原街道相接，南面与大南山街道相邻，西面以云落镇为界，东面与流沙西街道交界。国道324线和两条省道在辖区交汇，普惠高速公路穿过街道。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时，此地属普宁县第二区下的十赤乡和八乡，新中国成立后仍属第二区。1958年，此地并入流沙人民公社；1966年又从中划出，另成立池尾人民公社。[2]

1983年改为池尾区，1986年区建制取消，设池尾镇。2000年12月3日，省政府批准撤销池尾镇，改设池尾街道。[2][3]

1983年12月，省、市、县三级在塘塔埔村后山东南坡发掘后山遗址。该遗址为新石器时代末期至早期青铜时代过渡阶段的文化遗存，表明三四千年前此地已有先民生活。[4]

人口与经济[edit]

截至2017年末，辖区户籍人口为7.95万人。[1]

民营工业是街道经济的主力，纺织服装和食品加工为支柱产业。[3]

2020年、2021年和2022年，池尾街道先后列入淘宝镇名单。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

马山东麓的马嘶岩寺始建于唐朝中期（一说为唐大历年间），由高僧大颠禅师初创，背靠狮山主峰。寺内存有清乾隆年间的两方石碑。清康熙二十六年（1687年）重修后一度毁损，乾隆六年（1741年）住持源正募资重建。博雅地名网列其为县级文物保护单位。[5][2]

街道内的文物点还有：上寮村的林氏昌平祠，为近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑，列为县级文物保护单位；贵政山村的卢明阳墓，为明正德年间墓葬，列为县级文物保护单位；多年山村的十八烈士纪念碑，建于1956年，纪念1945年韩江纵队的十八位烈士。[6][7][2][8]
