连城村是惠来县侨园镇下辖的行政村，村名是在旧称「虎咬狗」之后改定的。[1]

地名由来[edit]

早先村后有虎山，村前有狗山，形势像猛虎扑向犬只，原名「虎咬狗」。清光绪二十六年（1900），一位蔡姓举人来到这里，见四周山陵环绕如同城墙，便改名连城。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据记载，清顺治元年（1644），蔡姓的良夫公最先到此创立村落。1949年至1958年仍称连城村；1958年至1960年划归葵潭农场，1960年归大南山侨场管辖，改称连城大队。[1]

1979年起设连城管理区，2005年改为连城村委会，延续至今。[1]

荣誉称号[edit]

  • 2024年3月，获命名为2023年「广东省卫生村」。[1]
