历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历，据博雅地名网：村前有一座圆形的小土丘，故名圆墩。[1]
明永乐二十一年（1423）张、谢等姓在此定居。嘉靖年间（1529～1566），黄姓迁来，此后他姓陆续迁走，仅存黄姓一族。[2]
明成化年间，村中创建碗窑，最多时扩建为七条窑。[2]
1928年，彭湃与其夫人许玉磬都曾到过村里；同年，黄绍就、黄陈娘等人在龙泉寺建立农会，村中竖有革命烈士纪念碑一座。[2]
2024年3月，圆墩村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
2009年底，全村总人口3765人。耕地992亩，其中水田607亩、山地19337亩。村民以农业生产为主，种植菠萝、李仔等，其中圆墩菠萝远销国外及广州、深圳、江西、福建等地。[1]
