白坑村是东港镇中心区的组成部分，距县城35公里，距深汕出入口500米。村名得自村前的一条坑沟。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村前有一条坑沟流过，水质清净，坑底多小白石，村因此得名白坑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

起初（1949年至1958年）即称白坑村。1958年至1973年间，它与另一个村合并为一个大队；1974年又拆出，称白坑大队。[1]

1983年并入乡政府，1986年再度拆出设白坑乡政府，1987年改为管理区，1999年定为村委会至今。[1]

概况[edit]

博雅地名网记全村有230户、1400人，全村占地1100亩，内有水田320亩、旱园600亩与山地180亩，未注明统计年份。农业以水稻、冬瓜、荔枝为主。[1]
