东港村是东港镇的行政村，镇人民政府驻地即在村中，距县城34公里。村北靠三清山，面临鳌江河。村名来自河岸旧时的一处码头。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖年间立村。1949年周边数个自然村合并成一个乡级行政单位，行政中心设在本村，隶属葵潭区。[3]

此后隶属多有变动：1953年归惠来第四区，1958年归鳌江公社并称东港大队，1959年划入葵潭农场，1962年又回鳌江公社。1973年东港设公社后，本村为东港大队；1983年至1986年为东港乡政府所在地，1987年起为东港管理区，1999年改为东港村委会。[3]

地名由来[edit]

村子紧靠一处港口，港口在通往甲子港的河岸上，岸边有船坞小码头，名为东港，村名由此而来。[1]

概况[edit]

荣誉[edit]

2022年8月，村获「2022年惠来县首批无毒村（社区）」称号。2026年1月，村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]
