钓石村在东陇镇的西南面，临着神泉港。村名来自村南庙前河边的一块巨石，因可供垂钓而得名。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村南庙前的河边屹立着一块巨石，适于垂钓，名为“钓鳌石”，村名由此简称“钓石”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

北宋元祐年间，林氏一支从福建莆田迁来此地创村。[1]

1949年时属隆江镇，村名钓石村；1953年归神泉区，成为钓石乡。1958年至1983年属东陇公社，叫钓石大队；1983年至1986年为钓石乡人民政府；1987年至1999年间，村里是钓石村管理区办事处；1999年以后才称钓石村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，钓石村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
