东陇镇是广东省揭阳市惠来县下辖的镇，地处惠来县中部，镇政府驻东陇村，距惠城约4公里。镇域四周邻接惠城、华湖、神泉、隆江等镇，其中北面与惠城镇接界。[1][3][4]

镇北为丘陵，南为平原，葵和公路东西横贯镇境。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名因镇人民政府驻东陇村而来。驻地原来的村子建在一处高坡的东面，故称东陇。[3]

1949年后，这一带先后隶属惠来县的惠城区、神泉区和隆江区，1953年又分属一区和六区。1957年撤区建乡，设东陇乡。[2]

1958年乡镇建制撤销，改属红旗公社，并一度随惠来、普宁两县合并，划归普宁县。1961年恢复惠来县建制，改称东陇公社；1983年公社改为区，1986年区改为镇。[2]

全镇面积，百度百科所载为54平方千米，博雅地名网所载为56平方公里。[1][3]

人口[edit]

2019年末户籍人口为113212人。[1] 1987年人口为5.32万人。[3] 2021年6月第七次全国人口普查结果，东陇镇人口为8.05万人。[2]

经济[edit]

1987年，全镇工农业总产值合计2210万元，农业产值占其中的1894万元。当时耕地面积2.96万亩，主体为平原水田，主要种稻和薯类；山地2.5万亩，其中果树种植面积1.46万亩；海滩涂约2000多亩，已改作养殖池塘。[3]

2019年，全镇工业企业共6家，规模以上的有3家；经营面积逾50平方米的综合商店与超市有12个。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

仙井古岩在苗海村北面的山上，始建于明代，一说建于宋代。寺内有一口天然石井，终年泉水清冽，寺以此得名。明万历年间，邹元标与何乔远曾在寺中讲学；至万历十六年（1588年），谢正蒙等四人同年登科，他们此前都曾在寺中读书。[5]

仙井古岩在1983年成为「惠来县重点文物保护单位」。1928年春，彭湃率部攻打惠来城，红四师部分官兵曾驻扎寺内。[5]

中国工农红军第四师攻城指挥部旧址在苗海村老村的沈氏顺公祠内。1928年3月，红四师进驻苗海村，以该祠为据点设立攻城指挥部，同月攻占惠来县城并成立县苏维埃政府。旧址于1985年2月列为县级文物保护单位，徐向前元帅题写的碑刻现存苗海小学内。[7]

华古寺在华房村东侧，与神泉港隔河相望，始建于北宋时期，寺中现存隆庆六年（1572年）准持菩萨像石刻。博雅地名网称该寺被县列为文物保护单位。[6][8]

著名人物[edit]

字华畹的方廷兰，生于1572年，卒于1629年，是明代寄陇村（时称陇头里）人。他以岁贡生身份于万历二十七年（1599年）入南京国子监。[9]

吴良谟（1909～1981），华吴村人，曾在厦门大学攻读数学，后转入中山大学物理系。[10]

方隆义（1879～1982），东陇村人。1927年彭湃在苗海领导革命武装时，他任赤卫队出纳。[11]
