池畔村位于惠来县城东部约2.5公里处，雷岭河中游东南面，属丘陵地带。全村由池畔、顶寨、新厝三个自然村组成，三村原统称“郭岗”。村名取自村子建在池塘边的情形。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明宣德五年（1430年），黄氏一支由福建莆田来此创村，当时已有郭姓先在此居住。为纪念郭氏先行开基之功，村名定为“郭岗”。后因村子建在池塘边，改称“池畔”。[1][3]

顶寨因三村之中唯有此处筑有寨墙而得名，新厝位于三村之南。[1]

人口与耕地[edit]

博雅地名网记村中约有4000余人，村内既有水田也有旱园，旱园约600亩。[1][2]

村子的经济靠农业，薏米是特产，荔枝是果树的主力。[1]

村中有明代郭氏创建的郭岗古寨，以及嘉庆年间创建的大平古庵。[3]

荣誉[edit]

爱卫会于2023年5月把池畔村认定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，池畔村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
