丁田村位于华湖镇南部，靠近司神路，距县城约4公里。村中欧阳氏自宋代定居，丁田之名由旧称“胶田”雅化而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋初村中已有数姓居住。村东南的塭田受海潮渗透，长着一种海生植物“胶绽树”，村名最初叫“胶田”。因“胶”与“咬”潮音相近，又取“绽”的谐音“丁”，雅称“丁田”。[1]

宋德祐元年（1275年），欧阳氏由福建莆田迁居此地，之后其他姓氏陆续迁走，村中主姓为欧阳，村名不变。[2]

1983年改为丁田乡政府，1987年改为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[3]

人口与耕地[edit]

博雅地名网记全村732户，共4875人；耕地有1875亩，水田占去1273亩，旱园为300亩；另有山地500多亩。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村中以农业为主，特产有甘蔗和荔枝。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年3月，丁田村获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号。2019年9月，丁田村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
