溪洋村位于惠来县城南面，相距县城约三公里，南濒神泉港，雷岭河和盐岭河在村的东南和西北绕村而过，在安澜桥处汇合后流入南海。村地为平原，溪河纵横，水运便利。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋嘉定年间（1208～1224年），吴氏始祖千十公由福建莆田调任潮阳县巡辖，卸任后定居于此，开基创乡。原有马、林等姓先居此地，后迁走，只剩吴姓。村因在禄昌溪（今盐岭河）的末段河道旁，初称“后溪”，因田地常受洪潮之害，又称“后溪洋”。1950年简称溪洋。[1]

土改后曾成立初级社、高级社，1958年9月前设溪洋乡，同年10月改为溪洋大队；1983年11月复为溪洋乡政府；1986年改为溪洋管理区；1999年起为溪洋村民委员会。[1][3]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记常住农业人口有6640余人，在外的港澳台及海外侨胞约1250余人。村内养殖面积1300亩，水稻和蔬菜种植面积共800亩。[2]

教育[edit]

村中历来重视教育，明清两代中有人考中庠生、廪生、贡元和举人。[2]

著名人物[edit]

吴明光（1908～1937年），又名其苏，溪洋村人。民国时期全家迁居神泉镇，后考入中央军校，毕业后留校任教。[1]

荣誉[edit]

溪洋村于2024年3月获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号。该村又于2019年9月进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
