上林村地处惠来县惠城镇西北山区，属革命老苏区，东北边与普宁市相接，揭神路穿越山地。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村周围樟树成林，原称林樟。为与另一处林樟相区别，又称顶林樟，1952年改称上林。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1691年至1701年（清康熙年间），林姓人家自外村迁来定居。当时沈、张、林三姓已居于此，后来他姓陆续迁走，林姓独存。[2]

新中国成立后，1951年办过初级社与高级社，1958年改为上林大队，1983年起改设乡级机构；1987年定为上林管理区，1999年成为村委会。河林乡撤销后，村归惠城镇管辖。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，上林村被广东省乡村振兴局列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2023年11月，入选「广东百千万工程首批典型县镇村」；2024年4月，入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
