新岭村在上砂镇西北部的山区，与五华县交界，离镇区约7.5千米。村名的起因是：村庄建在海拔较高的山上，且建村较晚。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年至1983年本村为新岭大队。1984年2月，大队改设新岭乡与新岭村；1986年起称新岭村民委员会，1990年改由管理区办事处管理，1999年再称新岭村委会，沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
