大东村位于大溪镇东南部，解放前名为东光，也写作东良。[1][2]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局确定该村为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后隶属南联区大溪乡，1950年起属五联区；1958年9月公社化后归钱坑人民公社，1976年9月分拆后改属大溪公社。1983年设区、乡后属大溪区，1986年12月起为大溪镇大东管理区，1999年起称大溪镇大东村民委员会。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有大东肇基公祠、长雄公祠，均列为「三普登记文物」。大溪古驿道在文物名录中注明于本村，同样列为「三普登记文物」。[3]
