据博雅地名网，村中十个自然村合起来有4726人，耕地1740亩，统计年份未注。农业形态以纯农业为主：粮食种水稻与蔬菜，经济作物则有花生、番茄、姜薯等。[1]

村内设党总支一个，下设五个支部，共有党员85人。[1]

文化旅游[edit]

植丰园位于本村新园村寨后，由林子丰于1920年（民国九年）建成，占地约5196.22平方米，为「广东省第七批省级文物保护单位」。[2][1]

历史沿革[edit]

时间顺序上看：解放初期属五联区；1984年2月撤销生产大队，改设乡政府；1986年改称村委会；1990年设金新管理区；1999年又定为村委会，至今未变。[1]
