村里以种养业为主，山地上种植茶叶、橄榄等经济作物，养猪、养鱼和三禽等养殖不断扩大。工业仍处于起步阶段，京塔经济开发区正在规划中。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

山寮村于2022年1月被广东省乡村振兴局列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1] 2019年9月，山寮村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1] 2025年，山寮村入选第三批典型村。[2]

1999年起改称山寮村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
