塔头镇是揭西县东部的一个镇，镇区紧靠榕江支流五经富水。镇名以所辖的塔头圩得名，该圩旧称大头埠，当地方言与“塔头埠”音近，因而沿用此名。[1][3]

2020年第七次全国人口普查时，全镇常住人口为34647人。[4] 2025年农业总产值6.37亿元，全年粮食播种3.12万亩，蔬菜产出3.43万吨。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

建镇以前，塔头先属凤安区。1957年凤安区划出一个塔头乡，次年并入棉湖人民公社；1961年又从棉湖分出，另设人民公社。1983年改称塔头区，1986年定名塔头镇。[1]

2024年3月，塔头镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[1] 2025年6月12日，全镇通过「百县千镇万村高质量发展工程」第二批典型镇评定；同年，锦龙村、龙光村、新园村被评为第二批典型村，山寮村为第三批典型村。[5]

地理环境[edit]

塔头镇位于揭西县东部，距县城29公里。[1] 镇域东与东园镇接壤，南邻凤江镇和金和镇，西邻灰寨镇，北与京溪园镇相邻。[3]

《揭西县塔头镇国土空间总体规划（2021—2035年）》公众征求意见稿，把全镇8个村庄列为集聚提升类：阔西村、锦龙村、塔头村、山寮村、保西村、龙光村、潭溪村、新园村。[3]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科另载2020年末户籍人口5.44万人，与普查常住人口口径不同。[2]

经济[edit]

2025年农业总产值6.37亿元，增长3.74%；固定资产投资4.2亿元，增幅35.59%。[5]

集体建房试点在塔头村、保西村推进，两村的集中式住宅预计可新增住房324套。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

塔头革命烈士墓列入不可移动革命文物名录，属一般不可移动文物。墓纪念韩江纵队大队长许继，他于1946年1月3日在鹅毛溪燕子岩一带牺牲；墓中还纪念塔头地区各时期牺牲的17位烈士。[6]

著名人物[edit]

黄声（1909～1966年），原名寄因，顶埔村人，曾在潮梅行政委员会任副主任，又任汕头市军管会秘书长，还任汕头市副市长。1966年6月14日去世。[1][7]
