埔田村位于揭东县城北面，镇名即源于此村。博雅地名网称村子历史悠久，村中商业活跃。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

关于建村时间，博雅地名网的概况称创于明朝嘉靖年间，历史沿革部分则写为清朝乾隆年间创村，两说并存。1949年称埔田乡，1958年改为埔田大队，1983年划为埔田区，1986年起设埔田村委会。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村里以种植香蕉、竹笋和水稻为主，经营商户的数量较多，还有五金、毛织等加工厂。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年8月，埔田村以竹笋入选「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」。[1]
