埔田镇位于揭东区北部，东边与云路镇相邻，西边接锡场镇，北面与新亨镇及潮州市潮安县登塘镇交界。境内山地多、竹林连片，竹笋是全镇最主要的农产品，镇政府把「中国笋乡 幸福埔田」定为发展定位。[1][5]

近几年，全镇的工作重心放在“百千万工程”的典型镇建设上，竹笋加工、预制菜与乡村旅游一并推进，乡村风貌和基础设施也随之改造。[5][6]

历史沿革[edit]

1369年（明洪武二年）时，此地属揭阳县崇义乡的梅岗都。清末和民国初仍沿用旧制；民国后期归揭阳第四区下辖的梅北乡；1949年后先后隶属梅岗区、梅北区，1953年改属揭阳第十三区。[2]

埔田这个名字，来自1957年设乡时乡政府所在的埔田村。1961年，埔田公社从梅岗公社分出；1983年一度称埔田区。1986年12月，这里正式定名为埔田镇；揭东县是在1991年12月才把它纳入辖区。[1][2]

近年荣誉

  • 2014年7月，埔田镇经农业部认定，列入「第四批全国一村一品示范村镇」，入选产品为竹笋。[4]
  • 2017年8月，住房和城乡建设部认定埔田镇为「第二批全国特色小镇」。[4]
  • 2019年7月，埔田镇进入「2019年全国农业产业强镇」建设名单。[4]
  • 2020年、2021年和2022年，阿里研究院先后三次把埔田镇列入「淘宝镇」名单。[4]
  • 2021年1月，埔田镇也在省级的「第二批广东省旅游风情小镇」之列。[4]
  • 2021年10月，埔田镇被农业农村部列为「2021年全国乡村特色产业十亿元镇」；2023年3月，又以埔田竹笋的名义被推介为「2022年全国乡村特色产业产值超十亿元镇」。[4]
  • 2023年8月，埔田镇的竹笋产业入选由农业农村部、财政部公布的「首批国家农业产业强镇」。[4][9]
  • 2023年11月，埔田镇入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」，成为首批省级典型镇之一。[4][6]
  • 2024年3月，全镇获评「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」称号。[4]

镇域多山，博雅地名网所载山地面积约7万亩，年份不详。全镇总面积，百度百科写作73.12平方千米，博雅地名网写作81.3平方千米，两个数字并存，此处未作取舍。[1][3]

人口民族[edit]

户籍人口，百度百科引用的统计为：2018年末68738人，2019年末68962人。[1]

在第七次全国人口普查的统计中，本镇为6.27万人，居揭东区各街道乡镇的第9位。[4]

经济[edit]

2025年，全镇农业总产值为7.14亿元，工业总产值为23.89亿元，税收收入为1472.23万元。以2020年底为基数，农业总产值增长24.7%，工业总产值增长8.5%，税收增长80.8%。[5]

竹笋是镇里的主导产业。按2016至2020年政府工作报告的不完全统计，竹笋种了3.3万亩，产量11.6万多吨，全产业总产值达12.2亿元。[7]

2021年11月，镇政府发布的报道则写竹笋年产量10万吨、产值10.4亿元。八成以上产品出口，销往40多个国家和地区。[8][9]

埔田竹笋于2005年12月21日获原国家质检总局批准，实施地理标志产品保护。[10]

镇内的加工企业推出竹笋礼盒和预制菜。青源农业的「埔田竹笋礼盒」进入广东省的「广货好手信」名单，「埔田上汤笋丝」与「埔田竹笋肠」两道菜入选「揭阳预制菜十大名菜」。[5]

2021年11月，人保财险揭阳分公司在镇内出单，签下了省内首张财政补贴的竹笋气象指数保单；干旱或强风达到约定指数时即理赔。[8]

文化[edit]

博雅地名网列出的民俗文化有揭阳铁枝木偶、狮舞（刘厝寨金狮）、灯杆彩凤祭祖习俗和锣鼓标旗队等。[2]

2026年的政府工作报告称，「埔田竹笋菜品制作技艺」、「莲花心村竹编囊椅制作工艺」和老岭英歌，获认定为「揭东区第三批区级非物质文化遗产」。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

念恩山生态旅游区在“十三五”期间建成对外开放。[7]

镇内有万竹园生态旅游景区。[5]庵后围龙屋、车田古城堡和南湖飞凤古寺是镇里的历史建筑。[7]
