北坑村位于玉湖镇西部，全村讲客家话，村中有御龙堂祠等建筑。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

村内耕地2502.1亩，山地5060亩，共1221户、5435人，村两委干部6人，党员117人，资料年份未注明。[1]

2009年村民人均纯收入为5225元。[1]

博雅地名网概况页称，村民以农副业为主，后来不少人外出经商、务工与创业，村子的贫困面貌已基本改变。[2]

2024年政府工作报告把北坑村列为玉湖镇重点打造的示范村、典型村之一。[3] 玉湖镇百千万工程的专项工作报告还提到，北坑村的现代化生态循环农业示范园区项目正在建设中。[4]

2022年1月，省级乡村振兴部门把北坑村定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；同年8月，北坑村又被定为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]

村中有御龙堂祠、祖墓，并设有公共文化活动场所。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清乾隆年间建村。1949年归新亨区管辖，1950年改属新亨区的山联乡，1952年改属玉湖区，之后于1959年又归新亨公社，1961年才划入玉湖公社，1965年并入团结大队，1972年改称北坑大队。[1]
