汾水村位于玉湖镇北端，地处揭东最北端，临榕江北河上游，与丰顺县汤南镇接壤。1927年，南昌起义部队与国民党军队在村一带交战，即汾水战役，村子因此闻名。[1][4]

地理环境[edit]

村子临榕江北河上游，河道在村西北角分叉，形成榕江的两条支流，两支干流绕过村前，把耕地和住宅分隔开，村名因此而来。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

村内有耕地2725.9亩，山地10147亩，村域面积11.1平方千米，全村1972户、9082人，资料年份未注明。2009年村民人均纯收入为5252元。[1][2]

2020年、2021年和2022年，汾水村先后三次列入阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[1]

2024年政府工作报告把汾水村列为玉湖镇重点打造的示范村、典型村之一。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

古时属揭阳县蓝田都。民国时期隶属揭阳县汾水乡；新中国成立后，1949年改设美和乡，1959年成为汾水大队，1983年又设汾水乡，1986年成立村委会。[2]

姓氏宗族[edit]

村中古时杂姓聚居，共有二十一个姓氏，现在仍以刘、张、洪、余、吴等姓居多。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

于1927年9月28日至30日，起义军与国民党军在村一带交战。百度百科将此役称为汤坑战役，又称汾水战役。[4]

汾水战役纪念公园位于汾水村与玉联村交界的竹竿山上，始建于1998年11月，园内有烈士纪念碑、陵园、纪念亭和纪念馆等。[5]

汾水村的红色美丽乡村提质升级项目已于2023年完工验收；镇里还计划把原汾水小学打造成红色教育场所。[3]
