新寮村位于玉湖镇西北部，206国道与广梅汕铁路穿越全境，玉湖高速的出入口就在村口，交通便利。村中保存着明代始建的古民居群，并有黄旭华旧居。[1][5]

地理环境[edit]

新寮村现有区域面积5平方千米，耕地1922.3亩，山地有4266亩，村内分设新寮、新西河两个经联社。全村总人口5416人、1304户，资料年份未注明。[1][2]

古村与旧居[edit]

新寮古村始建于明万历六年（1578年），依山而建，山脚的溪涧旁屋宇相连，形成规模宏大的古民居建筑群。建筑有“三厅两井”“三街六巷”“下山虎”“四点金”等格局，兼具潮汕与客家的风格，保存完好。[5]

2019年9月，广东省文化和旅游厅认定新寮村为首批「广东省文化和旅游特色村」。古村落亦被评为「广东省古村落」。[1][5]

黄旭华旧居又名崇德堂，为潮汕祠堂配套的厢房建筑，占地4245平方米。旧居内设成就展厅，陈列院士的卧室、家具与农具室，并设旧居管理处。黄旭华是「共和国勋章」获得者，被称为“中国核潜艇之父”；旧居被评为揭阳市爱国主义教育基地。[5]

博雅地名网称，清末新寮出了「一门三中举」的黄国祥兄弟，村中的乡土美食生炒朥饭也由此而来。[4]

经济[edit]

新寮村以农业为主，有一半以上人口从事农业生产。博雅地名网概况页所载，全村种有蔬菜250亩、果树430亩，稻田有1200亩，另有渔塘200亩，资料年份未注明。[2]

2009年，村中人均年纯收入为5252元，全村工农业总值则达23885万元。[2]

2024年政府工作报告把新寮村列为玉湖镇重点打造的示范村、典型村之一。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清康熙年间建村。1949年为新和乡下辖的自然村，1959年称新寮大队，1983年改称新寮乡，1986年设立新寮村委会。[1]
